Prof. Dr. Matjaž Mikoš
Dr. Matjaž Mikoš is a prominent figure in the field of hydrology and hydraulic engineering. He is a full professor at the University of Ljubljana, Head of the Research Institute for Geo and Hydro Threats and Head of the UNESCO Chair on Water-related Disaster Risk Reduction. He has made significant contributions to the understanding of water-related disasters and their reduction. Dr Mikoš has received numerous awards, including the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering, University of Ljubljana's Gold Plaque in 2009, Fellowship of the New York Academy of Sciences in 1997, and became Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers in 2024.
The Presidency Board consists of the President and two Vice-Presidents. The members of the Presidency Board are elected for 3 years.

prof. dr. Janez Peklenik
Born on June 11, 1926, died on March 15, 2016. Dr. ing. habil, dr. of technical sciences, professor of technical cybernetics, processing systems and computer technology, retired chair of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana. Prof. dr. Peklenik was the 36th rector of the University of Ljubljana.
