Stephen Minger
Dr. Stephen Minger was the Head of Research and Development for Cell Technologies at General Electric Healthcare and later the Director of the Stem Cell Biology Laboratory at the Wolfson Centre for Age-Related Diseases in the UK. Dr. Minger is a co-founder of the London Network for Regenerative Medicine and an advisor to the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine. He has been actively collaborating for many years with several biotechnology companies in Slovenia (such as Educell, SIMED, the National Institute of Biology, the Slovenian Innovation Hub, etc.) and internationally, recently also as a Slovenian citizen.
He received one of the first two licenses issued by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) for obtaining human embryonic cells and a research license for genetic engineering, specifically somatic cell nuclear transfer, as a potential methodology for treating genetic diseases.
